Key Responsibilities:

• Teach GCSE English/Functional Skills English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the college.
• Prepare lesson plans to cover the full duration of each lesson.
• Deliver lessons effectively using various teaching styles depending on the content.
• Create a lively classroom atmosphere to engage students.
• Instruct students on the structure and content of the English language.
• Teach spelling, meanings, grammar, and sentence construction.
• Ensure correct pronunciation of words.
• Encourage critical thinking through literature and poetry analysis.
• Guide students in analyzing media reports, advertisements, and news reports.

Skills & Experience:

• Right to Work & Enhanced DBS (dated within the last 3 months or on the update service).
• UK-recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
• Up-to-date knowledge of teaching techniques and topics in English.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Experience in teaching the subject.
