Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater in North West is seeking a qualified Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to support the Manager Engineering with a 5-year strategic horizon. The role covers maintenance, project delivery, and compliance across mining operations.

You will build relationships, manage budgets, liaise with service providers, and ensure alignment with safety, environmental and risk standards to optimise asset performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Engineering.
• Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Mines and Works) – Mine Health & Safety Act 29 of 1996.
• Degree or National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
• Registered as an Engineer to practice with ECSA/AMRE is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels.
• Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
• Source, contract and negotiate with service providers.
• Collaborate with external providers on design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
• Oversee budgeting, approve operating expenditure and assist in formulating monthly and annual budgets.
• Lead cost saving and cash conservation initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Education

Degree or National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

GCC Mines and Works

Engineering Council registration (ECSA/AMRE) advantageous
