Job summary

A technical services provider in Kempton Park is seeking a candidate to provide technical support and manage the availability of engineering components for training. The role requires a National Diploma in Electronic Engineering and minimum 3 years’ experience in simulator support and computer networking. Responsibilities include overseeing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and improving client service delivery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee acquisition of components and systems from suppliers.
  • Provide inputs for budget compilation and monitoring.

Introduction

To provide technical support and associated services to clients, in accordance with laid down internal and external regulations, rules, directives, and relevant processes and procedures.

To deliver and coordinate all activities related to student engagement and efficient utilisation of ATA training platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and ensure that adequate components, equipment, and systems are acquired from approved suppliers according to client's specifications and QMS procedures, delivered by agreed dates with the best cost / quality / delivery option within the approved budget.
  • Provide inputs to assist with budget compilation, expenditure, and monitoring.
  • Ensure all engineering components, equipment & systems are registered and safely secured.
  • Issue test equipment in accordance with QMS procedures.
  • Ensure that engineering components, equipment, and systems are maintained and available for training purposes according to service level agreements of at least 90% availability.
  • Ensure that adequate components, equipment, and systems are available to effectively address the training schedule and maintained according to maintenance schedules and within budget.
  • Ensure that client requests are complied with in a timeous and professional manner, whilst complying with QMS and OHAS practices.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve client services provided by the department.
  • Disposal of equipment according to Financial Directives.
  • Comply with all OHAS and safety requirements applicable to disposal activities.
Formal Qualifications

National Diploma in Electronic Engineering (M 3) which includes a computer networking module, granting admission to the Engineering Council of SA as an Engineering Technician or Technologist.

Experience

Minimum 3 years' experience in the operation, maintenance, and support of simulators and / or systems that include computer networking and computer hardware.
