Overall Responsibility: The key purpose of this role is to ensure optimum utilization of engineering Stores, to manage inventory and other consumables, with the objectives of achieving the highest service level to production and entrench systems to minimise stock variation, investments on stock holdings complies with legislation while utilizing the manufacturing ways.
Focus Area 1
Productivity
- Ensures that material records in place and Complies with the legislation
- Ensures that appropriate handling devices and safe working conditions prevail at the stores
- Review engineering spares and consumables periodically to identify obsolete and redundant materials
- Implement correct action to prevent substandard and reinforce continuous improvement
- Recommend to management, additions and deletions to inventory because of operational changes
- Periodically review stock levels to ensure that stock levels are in line with operational requirements
- Motivate and manage human resource, including performance appraisals, discipline, administration, training, IR climate, absenteeism etc
- Comply with laid down safety standards and statutory requirements
- Team and individual goals set and monitored
- Initiate and Implement 5S Standards within the work area

- First Aid Policy – Staff are aware of the first aider on site. Staff is trained to report injuries and illness to supervisors/first aiders

Requirements of the Role
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years Engineering Inventory Management
- Brewing / Packaging experience (high speed plant and equipment)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office package)
- Understanding of Maintenance Practices and Requirements
- In depth knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant equipment
- Assertive leadership, good people management
- Should have good verbal, sight and hearing abilities to be able to do the job as prescribed
- Strong diagnostic ability
- Ability to work with suppliers and inhouse Customers
- Understanding the Manufacturing Practices and ability to Introduce and Maintain 5s standards
General Business, Financial and People Management
- Actively participate in operational planning and budgeting processes
- Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls
- Ensure Adherence to all applicable Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Standards
- Manage cost drivers and take the necessary action to mitigate financial risk and address variances and discrepancies in the Engineering stores
- Ability to utilize the Inventory system to ensure standard adherence
