Job summary

Valterra Platinum invites applications for a fixed-term 12-month Planner – Maintenance role at Sandsloot Underground Mine, Mokopane (Band 7). The role reports to the Planned Maintenance Coordinator and involves coordinating resources, planning work orders, and ensuring adherence to ERP standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in planned maintenance in mining, strong SAP experience, and a Code 8 driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Planner Asset Management training or equivalent.
• 3–5 years planned maintenance or production experience in mining.
• Proficient in SAP for maintenance planning and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Work Management process by identifying resources on the Work Order.
• Plan Work elements in the Operating Model and Asset Management Framework.
• Comply with quality specs and authority levels.
• Review the Work Order Task Status Report daily to prioritize planning.
• Plan approved work orders for resources before the Required Date.
• Minimise operating impact without delaying the Required Date.
• Minimise resource demand without exceeding the Required Date.
• Comply with legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
• Develop and use standard jobs to improve planning efficiency.
• Exhibit effective Team Membership behaviours.
• Coordinate establishment of new materials (codification).
• Request updates to existing materials and services.
• Monitor warranties on equipment, parts and services.
• Coordinate returns of defective Repairable Units to Supply Chain.
• Coordinate and administer Capital/Strategic Spares for site.
• Produce weekly/monthly reports detailing planned vs actual maintenance.
• Ensure financial accounting and asset protection requirements are met.
• Keep management informed with concise timely information.
• Ensure ERP Standards and Governance adherence.
• Manage equipment modification/plant change controls.
• Engage early in SIB projects and procurement.
• Manage key reports and files.

Job Description

• Support the Work Management process by ensuring that all required resources for Approved Work are identified on the Work Order
• Execute the “Plan Work” element of Work Management in the Operating Model and the Asset Management Framework.
• Comply with quality specifications and authority levels set out in the documentation
• Review the Work Order Task Status Report daily: To assist in prioritizing the planning work/ To track upcoming work
• Plan approved work orders (within area of responsibility) for resource provisioning and execution prior to the Required Date.
• Plan work to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the Required Date for work completion.
• Plan work to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the Required Date for work completion
• Comply with applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
• Develop and use standard jobs to improve the efficiency of the planning process
• Exhibit effective Team Membership behaviors.
• Coordinating the establishment of new materials (codification)
• Requesting updates / corrections to existing materials and services
• Monitoring Manufacturer / Supplier Warranties on equipment, parts and services
• Coordinating the returns of defective Repairable Unit to Supply Chain / Refurbishment Controller
• Coordinating and Administering Capital / Strategic Spares for site
• Production of period reports (weekly and monthly) detailing planned versus actual maintenance activities and resource usage. Development of other reports as necessary
• Ensure that corporate and statutory financial accounting and asset protection requirements relevant to the position are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner
• Keeps management informed and shares information. Provides well thought out, concise and timely oral and written information
• Ensuring adherence to ERP Standards and Governance
• Integral in the Control over Equipment Modification / Plant Changes
• Controlling key engineering (OEM) documents on behalf of Section Engineer
• Engaging early in SIB Projects and Procurement
• Managing Key Reports and Files

This role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the Planned Maintenance Coordinator

Qualifications

• Successfully completed all Planner Asset Management training modules, or equivalent
• Valid driver’s License

Experience, Technical Knowledge And Skills

• 3-5 years planned Maintenance or Production experience in mining
• Successfully completed all Planner Asset Management training modules
• Computer literacy for role
• Good analytical and decision-making skills
• Experienced in using a computerized planned maintenance system (SAP)
• Advanced SAP Planned Maintenance Training Module
• Code 8 drivers license
