A JSE listed client in South Africa is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead maintenance operations in their facility. The role involves supervising teams, project planning, and financial management while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and regulations. Candidates must have substantial trade experience and relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a focus on FMCG manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of trade experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • GCC Factories certification is mandatory.
  • FMCG Food Manufacturing experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance operations in the plant with a team of foremen and artisans.
  • Plan and allocate projects, tasks, and resources effectively.

Job description

Our JSE listed client seeks an Engineering Manager with experience in leading and supervising teams of 25+
to manage the day to day maintenance operation in their plant.

Requirements:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 8 years’ trade experience of which least 5 years in a supervisory category: Experience with leading and supervising teams 25- 30+ Headcount
  • GCC Factories is Mandatory
  • FMCG Food Manufacturing Experience (Chicken Poultry experience would be advantageous)
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical, refrigeration and electrical engineering
  • Project Planning

  • Financial Management
Key Responsibilities
To manage with a dedicated focus the day to day maintenance operation in area of responsibility with his teams of foreman and artisans. The role also includes Project planning- Prioritizing, scheduling and allocation of tasks to different discipline of the engineering department, with the assistance of the planner and plant engineer and Project Cost control – control of approved budget and sub categories
