Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Manage the engineering team and assign tasks.
- Lead the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
- Oversee project logistics and resource allocation.
- Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and reduce waste.
- Secure necessary resources, including researching and proposing capital investments.
- Create and oversee project budgets and engage in cost management strategies.
- Ensure processes meet quality and safety compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle time, process improvement, and machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering.
- Develop and maintain project plans and budgets to ensure delivery of milestones within cost and time targets.
- Ensure KPIs are met.
Qualifications
- Matric
- A relevant engineering tertiary qualification.
- 8-10 years of engineering experience in an automotive environment, including 3-5 years in a similar role/level; experience with press and weld is advantageous.
- Knowledge of spot and arc (assembly) welding.
- Knowledge of press and weld automotive robotics/die maintenance.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering, and technical information.
