Ovations Technologies (Pty) Ltd is seeking an Engineering Lead to act as the principal technical authority for the Digitization & Automation function. The role combines leadership with hands-on coding, architecture, and governance across Azure cloud and enterprise integrations.

You will own technical execution, code quality, and DevSecOps practices while guiding teams, building PoCs, and designing solution skeletons. A 12-month contract in banking requires 8+ years of experience.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering or solution delivery.
• Hands-on expertise in .NET and/or Java, API & Integration, and Azure.
• Experience with Power Platform and RPA.
• Strong CI/CD, DevOps/DevSecOps, security and infrastructure design.

This is a 12 - month contract with our client in the banking sector.

Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a hands-on Engineering Lead to serve as the principal technical authority across their Digitization & Automation (DnA) function.

Working alongside the Intelligent Solutions Lead, you will own the technical execution, code quality, infrastructure planning, and engineering governance for all automation, AI, low-code, and integration initiatives. This is a hybrid leadership and technical role—you will set enterprise standards and guide engineering teams, while actively writing code, building PoCs, and designing solution skeletons.

Key responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership & Governance: Serve as the senior technical authority across DnA; define engineering standards, frameworks, and DevSecOps best practices; defend technical designs in enterprise governance and production-readiness forums.
• Hands-on Development & Assurance: Build proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, and reusable solution skeletons (.NET/Java, integrations, Power Platform, RPA); conduct thorough code reviews.
• Technical Architecture & Delivery: Translate solution architectures into scalable, secure, and implementable infrastructure designs and deployment models across Azure and enterprise environments.
• Team Mentorship: Guide, coach, and elevate the technical capability of developers, automation specialists, and engineers across the department.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, systems development, or solution delivery across both traditional software engineering and modern automation/low-code platforms.
• Core Tech Stack: Proven hands-on expertise in .NET and/or Java, API & Integration development, and cloud environments (Azure Cloud Services).
• Automation & Low-Code: Practical experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio) and RPA (Blue Prism or equivalent).
• Engineering Practices: Deep capability in CI/CD, DevOps/DevSecOps, code review standards, application security, and infrastructure design.

Prefered

• Experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector.
• Exposure to AI/Intelligent Automation solutions and enterprise-grade integration frameworks.
• Relevant certifications in Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Blue Prism, or Solution Architecture.
