Job summary

Rand Mutual - RMA is seeking an Engineering Graduate to gain hands-on exposure to business operations, process optimisation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making initiatives across the organisation. This role helps develop a strong foundation in engineering and operational excellence.

The position focuses on supporting improvement initiatives, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be unemployed at the commencement of the programme.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years (subject to the applicable INSETA funding requirements).
• Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Have English as a subject at Matric level.
• Be computer literate.
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have an interest in the insurance and financial services industry.
• Be willing to commit to the full duration of the learnership programme.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement and operational excellence initiatives across business functions.
• Analyse operational data and business processes to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
• Participate in business optimisation, workflow design, and process mapping exercises.
• Support the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collect, interpret, and report on operational and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver operational and strategic objectives.
• Assist with root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to improve business outcomes.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Participate in graduate development programmes, training initiatives, and assigned projects.
