Job description

The role is responsible for maintenance and repairs of all machinery and related Processing Plant equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety, Health and Environment

Carry out and fulfill responsibilities of an MHSA Section 2.9.2 legal appointment.

Maintain FAMP policies, standards, and procedure requirements.

Prepare and execute scheduled routine maintenance in conjunction with production planning.

Champion the implementation of proactive maintenance and eliminate reactive maintenance by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

Support operations by providing effective equipment maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and availability.

Parts and Inventory Management

Control maintenance costs effectively and prevent over-expenditure as far as possible.

Coordination

Issue work schedules and job cards.

Lead the team in complying with the company SHE strategy and zero harm framework.

Develop, review, and agree on the weekly maintenance plan with the Maintenance and Process teams, ensuring safe execution.

Reduce reaction times to breakdowns (MTTR) and increase mean time between failures (MTBF) through effective maintenance practices, systems, and procedures.

Oversee third-party contractor maintenance and compliance.

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.

Evaluate condition monitoring status.

Administration

Ensure maintenance logs and work order documentation on equipment inspections and repairs are maintained to the required standard.

Prepare month-end performance reports for engineers.

Generate cost reports for site managers/engineers.

Ensure all breakdowns are appropriately recorded by subordinates.

Managing the Team

Select and appoint competent and passionate personnel.

Supervise, train, and develop maintenance subordinates.

Maintain open communication channels with subordinates through daily meetings for two-way feedback.

Serve as a mentor for the yearly intake of work-integrated learning students.
