NOV South Africa is hiring an Engineering Data Analyst for our Rig Engineering Data Management (REDM) team. REDM is a global department dedicated to providing centralized management of parts and documentation, supporting engineers and aftermarket users with fast, accurate data, and efficient processes. As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a key role in structuring, quality-assuring, and maintaining technical data for standard parts and components (electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical). Your work will ensure the accuracy and reliability of information in our systems—crucial for effective workflows and high-quality outputs. Your analytical skills and service mindset will help translate insights into valuable process and system enhancements.

Responsibilities

1. Process, analyze, and follow up on data requests using internal tools and support systems, ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.
2. Create, modify, register, classify, and update technical standard parts in our product database (ERP & PLM), focusing on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
3. Read and verify technical documentation (drawings, datasheets, certificates).
4. Update and validate product information across internal systems, ensuring strong data integration and compliance with guidelines.
5. Perform data analyses and contribute to improving data quality, work routines, and documentation within agreed timeframes.
6. Collaborate closely with engineers and other departments to ensure efficient processes, smooth data flow, and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or vocational school degree in engineering, IT, or another technical/industrial field.
2. Experience with data analysis and data management within the industrial sector is advantageous.
3. Good understanding of industrial components (hydraulics, mechanics, electrics, etc.).
4. Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical documentation.
5. Experience with product databases, ERP, and PLM systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, advanced Excel).
6. Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
7. Strong communication skills in English.
8. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
9. Experience in customer support is beneficial.
