Job description

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global leading supplier in equipment and tools, parts, service, and technical solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries.

Applications include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling, and quarrying.

The focus lies on bringing value to customers through high-performing products that increase productivity and safety as well as to provide services and flexible maintenance programs that extend uptime and cut costs.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing quality technical support and for developing the technical competencies of the customer and internal personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and organize product training for sales and service personnel for the respective products.
  2. Provide technical training to the service network and customer base on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
  3. Provide technical support to end users, operators, and service personnel.
  4. Provide feedback to factories to enable improvements to the equipment or its operation.
  5. Provide assistance in compiling accurate data to process warranty claims and engineering machine improvements.
  6. Review spare parts recommendations and develop accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC).
  7. Investigate warranty claims proactively and reactively to enhance customer satisfaction and provide feedback to the respective factories.
  8. Monitor test results for new products to implement improvement of the product.
  9. Assist factories with field-testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
  10. Perform equipment installations and demonstrations in a safe manner.
Profile Required
  1. Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent Qualification.
  2. Millwright or electrical trade qualification.
  3. Machine range experience and advanced computer literacy.
  4. English proficiency.
  5. Relevant mechanized mining experience (5 years).
  6. Underground / surface mining environment.
  7. Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining / Underground experience.
  8. Mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment maintenance competence in at least 2 of the following areas:
    1. Basic 5 module LHD's and CM.
    2. Basic electronic systems.
    3. Basic LV electric systems.
    4. Mechanical equipment.
    5. Hydraulic systems.
    6. Video display systems.
    7. Advanced electrical systems (low current relays, electronic timers, electrical / electronic overloads and protection devices, solenoids, actuators, proximity devices etc.).
  9. Experience in CANbus systems will be an advantage.
  10. Basic knowledge of software.
  11. Valid driver's license.
  12. Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment.
