ENGINEER’S REPRESENTATIVE: CIVIL ENGINEERING-ROADS

(APPLICANTS RESIDING WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF UPINGTON TOWN IN THE NORTHERN CAPE WILL RECEIVE PREFERENCE)

Aseda Consulting Engineers is urgently seeking an Engineer’s Representative on site to perform technical duties to plan and coordinate the construction of roads in the Trans-Kgalagadi Game Reserve.

REQUIREMENTS

(Relevant proof/documentation must accompany application. Only certified copies of qualifications, identity document, and driver’s licence will be accepted. No late submissions will be accepted)

1. National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in road construction projects
3. Computer literacy (MS Office applications)
4. Must be willing to work on-site on civil construction sites, in all weather conditions
5. Perform construction monitoring, supervision, data gathering and verification
6. Assist the Engineer in preparing and adjudicating claims and extension of time
7. Assist with the preparation of monthly progress, quality and cost reports for submission to the Client.
8. Monitoring and reporting on the Contractor’s programme and financial expenditure
9. Implement Engineer’s quality monitoring plan and monitor Contractor’s quality control plan
10. Apply the policies and procedures of the client e.g. OHS plan, EMP
11. Knowledge of COLTO and GCC
12. Regular site meetings with Contractor, Employer and Engineer and keeping of minutes.
13. Issuing of site instructions, variation orders, drawings, etc.
14. Compile reports and as-built data in accordance with the Employer's standard requirements
15. The Contract Engineer may assign additional responsibilities related to contract administration of the project to the successful candidate
16. Work independently and in a team environment.
17. Must be in possession of a valid Code B driver’s licence and own vehicle
18. Applicants submitting proof of own transportation (motor vehicle) and willingness to use his/her own transport for site visits will have added advantage (Successful applicant will be reimbursed for kilometres travelled for official purposes)

DURATION: Contractual appointment for Eight (8) months

SALARY: NEGOTIABLE BASED ON EXPERIENCE
