Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking an Engineer Prof Engineering - Turbine Eng for Palmiet Power Station to provide mechanical or mechatronic engineering leadership for hydro turbines and associated plant systems. The role requires technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and periodic site travel to support nationwide operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering (NQF 8).
• Registered or eligible with ECSA as Candidate Engineer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Optimise plant performance and reliability of hydro turbines and related systems.
• Identify and resolve operational plant issues through root cause analysis.
• Lead engineering modifications and improvements to plant assets.
• Coordinate engineering projects and ensure timely delivery.
• Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and governance processes.
