Clover is looking for an Engineer: Control Systems Development to execute projects and take accountability for systemic reliability and standards adherence in the control systems discipline across Clover manufacturing facilities.
This position is based at Clover Head Office.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering
Computer literacy (high level) - MS Office Suite, MS Project, MS Visio, Autodesk Autocad or equivalent, Siemens Simatic Step 7 and TIA Portal
Experience with Statement Lists (STL), Ladder Diagrams (LAD), Function Block Diagrams (FBD)
Business English: Fluent
Travel off-site / overnight stay
Extensive working experience in a commercial-scale manufacturing environment where food production both solid and liquid is a core component
Proven ability to lead and support the scoping, design, and implementation of a business project.
This includes experience with supporting transition/change
A proven track record of delivery and exceeding goals and expectations, supported by excellent problem-solving skills.
An energetic self-starter with an innovative, resourceful and pragmatic approach.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure compliance to design and standardisation in the implementation of control systems across all production sites
Understand and interpret standard requirements for mainstream technology into new designs & developments
Communicate standard requirements to production teams and provide technical support with implementation
Ensure that standardised electrical and control system engineering design principles & equipment specifications are implemented and complied with across all manufacturing facilities
Provide support and expert input into electrical and control system engineering standards in the field of automation and electrical engineering for Clover's production processes that are aligned to the NPD process
Support electrical and control system engineering to the development and maintenance of a database containing all Clover's manufacturing processes' programs, functional blocks, HMI backups and electrical diagrams/layouts where applicable
Support electrical and control system engineering to the development and maintenance of a database containing technological information, standard designs and equipment specifications and ensuring that it is accessible to key role players
Ensure adherence to standard specifications at all Clover Manufacturing facilities
Provide support to project execution teams to ensure that Clover standard design principles are incorporated in the design and execution of all projects
Provide support on electrical and control system engineering (in conjunction with project engineering) to enable project management to compile a high level Business Investigation Report (BIR) for products/projects that is aligned with the guidelines/strategies and timings of the NPD process
Support the development of preliminary designs/concepts to address the compliance shortfall between the existing and required plant/facilities
Generate preliminary scale of costs of any modifications required with regard to both capital and operational costs
Generate any documents/calculations/drawings needed to arrive at the required level of accuracy (70%) of the BIR
Scope further in-depth investigative work needed in subsequent phases of the project should it progress further
Deliver detail electrical and control system engineering input (in conjunction with project engineering) to enable Project Management to compile the Final Business Case (FBC) for products/projects that progressed beyond BIR level
Finalise subsequent phases of work, including the cost modelling of these new concept designs in terms of capital and operating costs
Develop detailed designs for those engineering concepts not outsourced to approved consultants, and integrate with the outsourced concept designs and/or existing plant and facilities
Update all engineering documents required to enable construction/implementation of the proposed technologies as required by the product specifications, this includes drawings, P&ID's, GAD's, PFD's, BFD's, equipment specifications, designs and process descriptions as required/relevant
Provide electrical and control system engineering execution/support services for projects in the execution phase of development
Deliver (if called upon) HMI hardware/software, configure, establish communications, program, test, commission, service, document and perform diagnostic functions as required on a particular project in the execution phase and under direction of Project Engineering
Ensure (if called upon) execution of electrical and control system modifications happen according to the relevant policies & procedures.
This includes compliance to internal company policy and standards and also external legal requirements and SHE legislation
Ensure (if called upon) that execution work performed under direction of Project Engineering happens according to the allocated budget and time constraints imposed by the particular business case
Ensure (if called upon) that all required manuals, training materials, updated documents and drawings are delivered according to the requirements of Project Engineering
Where required, lead the project management of various projects
Provide electrical and control systems engineering backup and support services to internal clients (such as Production / Distribution / DFSA)
Perform (if called upon) fault finding services and problem solving duty for ad-hoc issues that may arise during Clover's day-to-day operations
Deliver (if called upon) professional opinion and specialist technological advice for proposed modifications/alterations to existing plant infrastructure
Provide support to Clover Facilities on production related Information Technology strategies and policies
