Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to support detailed design and project delivery across water, transport and buildings. You will work under a Senior Engineer or Associate Engineer on earthworks, water reticulation, pavement and drainage design, providing accurate drawings and outputs.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, EPANET and SWMM.
• Broaden knowledge of other design software in civil engineering.
• Must have B.Eng. / BScEng Degree; an M.Eng. degree is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed civil design including bulk earthworks, water reticulation, pavement design, stormwater, sewerage.
• Model civil services in Civil 3D and Revit.
• Take responsibility for design and drawings.
• Be part of a project team, liaise with other professional team members and contractors.
• Attend planning, design and site meetings, and ad-hoc site inspections.
• Independently manage projects of low complexity.
• Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in civil engineering documentation.
• Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal QA procedures for all design activities.
• Assist with the compilation of bids and proposals.

Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

• Under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Associate Engineer, perform detailed designs involving, but not limited to bulk earthworks, water reticulation, pavement design, stormwater, sewerage, road geometry and cable ducts.
• Modelling of civil engineering services in Civil 3D and Revit.
• Specification, analysis and sizing of civil engineering equipment such as submersible pumps, interceptors and tanks.
• Take responsibility for civil engineering design and drawings.
• Be part of a project team, liaise with other professional team members and contractors.
• Attend planning, design and site meetings, and ad-hoc site inspections.
• Independently manage projects of low complexity.
• Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in civil engineering documentation such as reports, analysis and specifications.
• Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal QA procedures for all design activities.
• Assist with the compilation of bids and proposals.

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

• Solid knowledge and understanding of civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, EPANET and SWMM.
• Broaden knowledge of other design software in civil engineering.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and understand the importance of delivery and client satisfaction.

• Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to consider the big picture of a project’s impact.
• Revit MEP and structure knowledge will be advantageous.
• Must have experience in the design of building services (i.e. water supply, sewerage, stormwater, ducting, road layer works, pavements & batch earthworks).
• Some experience in leading small design projects, including resource planning and design time frame estimates.
• B.Eng. / BScEng Degree
