Placements24 is seeking an experienced Energy Trader to join our client’s team in Paarl. The role involves buying and selling energy commodities, including electricity and gas, to optimize profit and manage risk.

You will analyze market trends and execute trades in real-time across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong quantitative background, understanding of energy markets, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy trading, commodity trading, or financial markets.
• Understanding of energy markets, trading mechanisms, and derivatives.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and make rapid decisions; excellent communication and negotiation skills.
