Placements24 is seeking an energetic Energy Trader to join our trading desk in Mahikeng. The role involves managing positions across electricity, natural gas and derivatives, executing trades, and optimizing portfolio performance in a fast-paced market.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years in energy or commodity trading, a quantitative mindset, and a proven track record in risk management. This is a hybrid role with strong reward potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in energy or commodity trading.
• Proven track record in trading performance and risk management.
• Strong understanding of energy market fundamentals, trading platforms and instruments.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute trades in energy commodity markets (electricity, gas, derivatives) based on analysis and risk limits.
• Monitor market movements and indicators to identify opportunities.
