Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Energy Efficiency Consultant to join their Richards Bay team. The role combines on-site energy audits with remote analysis and reporting, offering a hybrid work model and travel within KwaZulu-Natal.

You will conduct audits, develop efficiency strategies, and guide clients through implementation, presenting findings with ROI and cost-saving potential. A background in engineering or environmental science is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical), Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy auditing, energy management, or a related sustainability consulting role.
• Knowledge of building systems, industrial processes, and energy-efficient technologies.
• Proficiency in energy modeling software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and client communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive energy audits of commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities to identify significant energy waste.
• Analyze energy usage data and develop detailed recommendations for energy-saving measures, including HVAC upgrades, lighting retrofits, and process optimization.
• Prepare and present energy audit reports and efficiency proposals to clients, outlining cost savings, ROI, and implementation plans.
• Advise clients on the selection and implementation of energy-efficient technologies and practices.
• Stay current with energy efficiency standards, government incentives, and new technologies in the field.
• Track the performance of implemented energy efficiency projects and provide post-implementation support.
