The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, strong technical skills, and experience in energy management.
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Data Analyst to join our growing energy trading operations. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring accurate data flow, forecasting, and reporting across both client consumption and energy generation activities.
Your primary responsibility will be to manage and enhance the quality and accuracy of metering data, while developing forecasting models to predict energy usage. You will work with large, time-sensitive datasets and use your scripting, automation, and BI skills to streamline reporting processes and support client settlements.
This role is embedded within the settlements function, the engine room of our energy trading business, and directly supports the optimisation of energy allocations from generation sources to client sites. As the regulatory and trading landscape continues to evolve, you’ll contribute to building scalable, automated systems that can keep up with the pace of industry change.
Data Management & Quality Control
Monitor incoming datasets from metering systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Identify and resolve data gaps or errors using structured problem-solving techniques.
Collaborate with external metering service providers to troubleshoot issues and improve data flow.
Forecasting & Load Analysis
Operate and refine forecasting models to predict client energy usage across industries.
Interpret time-series consumption data to support optimisation of energy distribution.
Data Integration & Automation
Extract, clean, and integrate data from various metering platforms and internal systems.
Assist with automating manual data-loading processes through scripting and system enhancements.
Reporting & Business Intelligence
Build dashboards and generate reports to help internal stakeholders and clients understand their energy profiles.
Translate technical data into accessible insights that support both client decision-making and business strategy.
Support for Settlements & Reconciliation
Provide validated data for use in client settlements and energy trading activities.
Reconcile internal data against utility bills and escalate any discrepancies with supporting analysis.
System Maintenance & Operational Support
Maintain structured metering hierarchies within energy trading platforms.
Ensure seamless integration of diverse energy data sources, including diesel generators and embedded generation plants.
Compliance & Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement in data workflows and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
