Sun International is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to manage end-to-end ER case lifecycle with a focus on fair, legally compliant outcomes. The role conducts workplace investigations, manages disciplinary and grievance processes, prepares cases and represents the organisation in external dispute resolution forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
  • Advanced Diploma / Degree in Labour Law preferred.
  • 5–8 years of relevant Employee Relations/Labour Relations experience.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.

Job description

The Employee Relations Specialist manages the end-to-end employee relations case lifecycle, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes. The role conducts workplace investigations, manages disciplinary and grievance processes, prepares cases and represents the organisation in external dispute resolution forums, while providing specialist ER guidance to managers and PBE stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (required).
  • Advanced Diploma / Degree in Labour Law (preferred).
Experience:
  • 5-8 years’ relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Employee Relations and/or Labour Relations.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing ER cases.
  • Practical experience in dispute resolution and CCMA matters.
  • Strong working knowledge of South African employment legislation, particularly the LRA and BCEA.
  • Experience preparing formal ER documentation, case packs and supporting evidence.
  • Experience advising managers and stakeholders on employee relations processes and requirements.
