Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional in South Africa is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Partner to provide expert guidance to managers, HR colleagues, and employees. You will manage complex ER matters, ensure compliance with labour legislation, and deliver fair, practical outcomes through trusted partnership.

The role requires a Bachelor's or postgraduate qualification in Labour Relations or HR Management, proven CCMA experience, and deep knowledge of SA labour law.

• Experience advising managers, HR teams, and business leaders on complex employee relations matters.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise and partner with HRBPs, managers, and leaders on complex employee relations matters.
• Manage employee relations cases end to end, including investigations and terminations.
• Draft ER documentation and maintain compliant case records.
• Partner with Employment Counsel to ensure compliance with SA labour laws.
• Represent the organisation at CCMA and Labour Court when required.
• Monitor trends, analyse data, and provide actionable insights to reduce risk.

About the Role

As an Employee Relations Partner, you will play a key role in supporting RELX companies across South Africa by providing expert employee relations guidance to managers, HR colleagues, and employees. You will manage complex employee relations matters, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and help create positive workplace outcomes through trusted partnership, sound judgment, and a solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Advise and partner with HRBPs, managers, and business leaders on complex employee relations matters, labour law compliance, and legal risk.
• Manage employee relations cases end to end, including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievances, terminations, and organisational change.
• Draft employee relations and labour-related documentation and maintain accurate, compliant case records.
• Partner with internal Employment Counsel to ensure compliance with South African labour legislation, including the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA), and other applicable laws.
• Represent the organisation at the CCMA and Labour Court, where required.
• Apply discretion and sound judgment while leading sophisticated processes, decisions, and handling sensitive information.
• Monitor employee relations trends, analyse data, and provide insights and recommendations to improve workplace culture and reduce organisational risk.
