Job description

Email & CRM Developer position available in Cape Town.

If you’ve ever fixed a rendering bug in Outlook and lived to tell the tale – keep reading.

This role is made for someone who gets the quirks of email development, thrives on clean code, and triple-checks their work before it lands in a client’s inbox.

You’ll be the person turning design files into responsive, mobile-friendly, bulletproof emails. You’ll also work on in-app messages, SMS templates, and the occasional landing page – all tied to high-volume CRM campaigns.

You won’t just write code. You’ll make sure what goes out looks good everywhere, works flawlessly, and lands with impact.

Location: Cape Town (Hybrid).

Salary: R40k – R65k per month.

What you’ll do:

  • Build responsive HTML/CSS emails for campaigns, journeys, and one-offs
  • Code in-app messages, SMS templates, and landing pages (when needed)
  • Debug and troubleshoot rendering issues across email clients
  • Test thoroughly across desktop, mobile, and different browsers
  • Collaborate with design and CRM teams to ensure pixel-perfect execution
  • Implement personalisation logic for dynamic content (where needed)

What you’ll bring:

  • Solid HTML and CSS skills, specifically for email
  • Strong attention to detail (you test, test again, then test some more)
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, SFMC, Braze, etc.)
  • Understanding of email rendering quirks across clients (Outlook, Gmail, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, campaign-driven environment
  • Clear communication skills and a calm approach under pressure

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Litmus or Email on Acid for testing
  • Experience with dynamic content or personalisation (AMPscript, Handlebars, etc.)
  • Basic JavaScript knowledge (bonus but not essential)
  • Experience building landing pages or microsites
