Job Description: Electronics Engineer

ENVIRONMENT: The technical expertise of a highly meticulous & solutions-driven Electronics Engineer is sought to join the Joburg team of a provider of cutting-edge Electronics Solutions.

Your role will entail experiments, tests, or other physical and/or computer simulations of electronic and/or systems, where the tools, equipment, and time provided are capable of determining the test outcomes.

You will also utilize software such as DesignSparkPCB to generate schematics and PCBs, compile technical reports, technical studies, Quality Assurance documentation, procedures, bills of materials, and master design files.

Qualifications and Experience

• B.ENG Electronic Degree from a recognized university (no colleges or BTech)
• Relevant work experience including Technical Writing, PCB Design, Embedded C Firmware Development, Android Development, and Leadership ability (training provision)

Key Responsibilities

• Product Quality Assurance: Testing and inspection of equipment to ensure standards are met.
• Electronic PCB Repairs and troubleshooting.
• Studying and understanding schematics for diagnosing faults.
• Conducting experiments, tests, or simulations to determine outcomes.
• Inspecting and evaluating PCB and schematic designs for quality control.
• Producing reports, technical studies, QA documentation, procedures, and maintaining design files.
• Source and order components for projects.
• Document all tests and activities for accessibility.
• Use DesignSparkPCB for schematic and PCB generation as needed.
• Produce embedded and computer code, including programming microcontrollers (e.g., Embedded C on Microchip PIC series).
• Diagnose, debug, and interact with blast control systems in the field as trained.
• Assist in maintaining telecommunications and network infrastructure.
• Observe and suggest improvements in production, administration, and development systems.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance and R&D for process and design changes.
• Facilitate R&D team meetings for project information transfer.
