Introduction
The primary purpose of the Electronic Engineer is to design and integrate electronic hardware for systems under development.
Our company's focus is mainly on electro-optical systems for the civilian and security industry, but may also be suitable for limited defence applications.
This wide range of applications implies special requirements and considerations when designing and verifying electronic hardware.
The Electronic Engineer will work in a team with System Engineers, Project Managers, the Chief Electronic Engineer, and other Engineers and Technicians in the product development process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Concept electronic designs to meet system requirements provided by the Systems Engineer.
- Detailed electronic hardware designs based on the chosen concept design.
- Oversee and review PCB designs.
- Design for Electro-magnetic compatibility.
- Simulation and analysis in support of the design process.
- Ability to develop and/or understand firmware and software for optical systems is an advantage.
- Creation of documentation (e.g., requirement specifications, design description, verification documents, version descriptions) as outputs of the hardware design, development, and review process.
- Perform FAIT (Fabrication, Assembly, Integration, and Testing) for electronic components/sub-systems.
- Perform verification, validation, and qualification testing of electronic components/sub-systems.
Suitable Character
- The ability to apply deep technical knowledge through independent judgment and decision-making.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the drive to bring product development projects to successful completion.
- An innovative thinker and pragmatic problem solver, capable of evaluating technical options and selecting the best solution.

- Exhibits enthusiasm, confidence, and a positive attitude towards work.
- Maintains a polite, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Prepared to ensure project success by any reasonable means.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electronic Engineering.
- 5-10 years of Electronic Engineering experience in a military product development environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in Electronic Hardware Design in an Opto-Electronic development environment (e.g., DTV or Infrared cameras).
- Working knowledge of current PCB and component technologies, CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence), including FPGA and ASIC devices, fiber optics cables, wiring types, electrical connectors.
- Working knowledge of computing system design (FPGA, memory, and supporting circuitry).
- Familiarity with electronic hardware development processes and documentation artifacts.
- Experience with military and/or industry hardware specifications.
- Experience working with embedded software and firmware.
- Working knowledge of electronic system ancillary components such as cables, connectors, and heat sinks.
- Knowledge of electronic engineering test equipment and measurement techniques.
- Familiarity with environmental and EMI testing and qualification processes.
