Job description

Role: Networking System Architectural Support

Location: Remote UK / EU

Contract role running through to end of Dec 2028

MUST HAVE: Security clearance to SC / DV or NATO levels

The Contractor will provide architecture and business analysis services in support of the development of architecture models and content, adhering to the standards and methods defined by the Digital Policy Committee (DPC) Architecture Capability Team (ACaT) and the FMN Capability Management Working Group (CPWG).

The service will deliver refined and updated Electromagnetic Warfare Domain Information Model(s) in support of NATO Electromagnetic Operations (EMO).

The service will deliver architecture data in the FMN architecture repository to provide the FMN Affiliates with reference documentation, tools, architecture building blocks, and tailored models, arranged per topic, syndicate, instructions, and spiral.

This service will support the maintenance of the data in the architecture repository so it may serve as a data-driven decision support tool for the leadership and members of the CPWG and Operational Coordination Working Group (OCWG).

The service will provide a CPWG Facilitator for assigned FMN Syndicates, responsible to the CPWG Support Team Lead to act as the interface between the Syndicate Leads and SMEs and the CPWG, addressing questions and issues and acting as the conduit for guidance and direction on the Framework Processes. Facilitation will initially be required for:

  • Logistics IWG Syndicate
  • Medical IWG Syndicate

The service will provide a Custodian for assigned FMN Spiral Specification Components, responsible to the CPWG Support Team Lead for the completion, coherence, and quality of the documentation. Custodianship will initially be required for the following components:

  • Electronic Warfare Procedural and Service Instructions
  • Logistics Procedural and Service Instructions
  • Medical Procedural Instructions
  • Joint Operational Procedural Instructions
  • Situational Awareness Procedural Instructions

With the agreement of the task lead, the service will support and participate in FMN Inter-Working Group Syndicate meetings and FMN Syndicate Sprints as agreed, as part of each Sprint's delivery.

Specific Requirements and Qualifications

The Electromagnetic Warfare and Federated Mission Networking System Architectural Support requires demonstrated experience and qualifications in the following domains:

  • Proven hands-on experience with the content and employment of the NATO C3 Taxonomy and NATO Federated Mission Network principles and concepts.
  • Proven experience in modelling business processes and information exchanges for the following military functions:
    • Electromagnetic Warfare
    • Situational Awareness
    • Logistics
    • Medical
  • Proven experience in developing architecture models and content adhering to the standards and methods defined by the NATO Digital Policy Committee (DPC) Architecture Capability Team (ACaT) and the FMN Architecture Coordination Body (ACB), including:
    • Archimate v3.x
    • FMN Spiral Specifications Data Model
    • The NATO C3 Taxonomy
  • Deep knowledge and experience in using the ACT Tidepedia Wiki Environment.
  • Experience with NATO structures and a demonstrated knowledge of NATO Command Structure, NATO C3 Substructure, and NATO Functional Services and Capabilities.
  • A proven track record in analyzing, defining, and designing architecture models and perspectives using Archimate 3.x, including at least 3 years of demonstrable experience using:
    • Sparks Enterprise Architect v16
    • Archi v5.x
