Job summary

Ramsay Engineering in Prospecton, South Africa seeks a Process Technician to ensure quality standards and customer specifications on the electro-coating line. You will verify voltage, pH, and temperatures, maintain equipment, and manage chemical make-up per specifications.

Responsibilities include SEM testing of phosphate tanks, oven temperature logging, and leading trials while addressing abnormalities and driving improvements. Diploma in chemical engineering preferred.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and National Diploma in chemical engineering are required.
• Handling of hazardous chemicals is required.
• PPG certificate of training is beneficial.
• Strong technical report writing and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Ramsay Manufacturing Excellence system and PH balances.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality standards and customer specifications on the electro-coating line.
• Verify product voltage, pH, acid level and temperature per specifications.
• Maintain tanks and pumps to minimise production downtime.
• Perform chemical make-up and additions per specifications.
• Follow handover procedures and update process instructions as needed.
• Conduct SEM tests on phosphate tanks and analyze data.
• Run temperature tests on ovens and document results.
• Lead trials on new work and record settings.
• Investigate abnormalities and implement corrective actions.
