Job summary

Ellahi Consulting is seeking an experienced Electrician / Panel Wireman for a production environment in the Western Cape. You will wire chassis and control systems, read diagrams and BOMs, and perform fault-finding and repairs across bakery equipment and production lines.

The role requires a qualified Electrician with Red Seal and Wireman’s Licence, with preferred N6 Diploma and PLC exposure. Candidate must be reliable, join a team, and have own transport to Bellville site.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with Red Seal and Wireman’s Licence is required.
• N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Experience with 3-phase control circuits and switchgear wiring.
• Experience in panel/chassis wiring and electrical control systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, BOMs, and sample chassis.
• Experience with electrical fault-finding and repairs.
• PLC installation and programming experience is advantageous.
• Experience in factory/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be reliable, punctual with strong daily attendance.
• Must have reliable own transport.
• Willing to undergo reference, criminal record and medical checks.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical chassis and control systems according to wiring diagrams.
• Work according to BOMs, wiring diagrams and sample chassis.
• Complete electrical wiring accurately and to the required quality standards.
• Conduct continuous assessment of raw materials and consumables.
• Perform quality control and final inspections.
• Identify and repair electrical faults on products and production equipment.
• Work closely with Production and Electrical teams.
• Maintain good discipline and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
• Assist with plant electrical maintenance including fault-finding on hand tools and machinery.
• Inspect and repair DB boards and extension leads.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for working within the Electrical Department as part of a production team. The role involves wiring electrical chassis and control systems according to wiring diagrams and preparing equipment while it is being assembled.

The position also includes electrical fault-finding, repairs and maintenance on bakery equipment and other electrical equipment throughout the plant.

Requirements

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

• QualifiedElectrician with Red Seal.

• Wireman’s Licencerequired

• N6 National Diploma in Electrical Engineeringpreferred.

• Proven experience in3-phase control circuits and switchgear wiring.

• Experience inpanel/chassis wiringand electrical control systems.

Key Performance Areas

• Wire electrical chassis and control systems according to wiring diagrams.

Plant Electrical Maintenance

The successful candidate will also be responsible for assisting with plant electrical maintenance, including:

• Fault-finding and repairs on electrical hand tools.

• Maintenance and repairs on machinery.

• Maintenance and repairs on welding machines.

• Inspection and repair of extension leads.

• Inspection and maintenance of DB boards.

• General electrical fault-finding throughout the premises.

Safety Responsibilities

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

• Correctly use all safety equipment provided.

• Attend safety meetings.

• Conduct safety inspections.

• Complete required safety reports.

• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

Employment Conditions & Benefits

• Probation:3 months.

• Pay:Weekly, every Friday.

• Annual increases:In accordance with the applicableMetal Bargaining Council, with annual increases applied on a pro-rata basis where applicable.

• Annual bonus:Pro rata.

• Provident/Pension:Applicable contribution deducted from salary.

• Annual shutdown:Company shutdown generally takes place from approximately11 December until the second week of January, subject to the company's confirmed annual shutdown dates.
