Electrician - Permanent Position

A permanent position is available for a suitably qualified and experienced Electrician to join a busy team near Middelburg. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing stationary, electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring safety, functionality, and reliability while providing quality customer service.

About the Role

The Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment at the process plant and infrastructure, with a focus on safe working practices and zero harm. Reporting to the Estate Manager, the role is part of the Property Estate Management team overseeing Site Services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive maintenance, including inspections, adjustments, and overhauls on mechanical and electrical equipment such as pumps, tanks, piping, air compressors, and building infrastructure.
2. Carry out corrective maintenance, repairs, and replacements as needed.
3. Identify equipment deficiencies and troubleshoot issues.
4. Respond promptly to critical equipment breakdowns.
5. Complete daily reports and work orders.
6. Assist in scoping and planning new work projects.
7. Adhere to all safety and security policies and procedures.
8. Report incidents and assist with investigations.
9. Participate actively in safety meetings and audits.
10. Repair, service, and recondition equipment according to trade codes and industry standards.
11. Record all task-related information for planning and work order purposes.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Valid Interprovincial Journeyman Certified Millwright (advantageous).
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar processing facility.
• Knowledge of conveyor belts, pumps, vibrating screens, and other process plant equipment.
• Knowledge of condition monitoring systems.
• Basic welding skills and experience.
• Strong commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental Standards.
• Experience working in remote mining sites and cross-cultural environments.
