ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Electrician , you will be responsible for the timely installation, repair and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner and to operate equipment and test all working parts in functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;

• Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;

• Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;

• Maintains a clean and safe worksite;

• Work independently and in a team as well as under pressure;

• E nsures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;

• Coordinates activities associated with trouble-shooting and repairing maintenance equipment;

• Clear feedback to direct line Supervisor.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance is essential ;

• Maintenance and fault finding on Allen Bradley VSD’s and PLC’s as well as medium voltage switchgear will be advantageous.
