ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese-rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 percent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the timely installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment to ensure that mining activities are executed in a safe manner and to operate equipment and test all working parts in the functional area to ensure proper utilization.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

1. Interprets and coordinates pre-work with regards to repairs, planned and predictive maintenance;
2. Accesses any area safely to perform necessary maintenance on machines or equipment;
3. Performs safety inspections of equipment and assesses risks on equipment;
4. Maintains a clean and safe worksite;
5. Works independently and in a team as well as under pressure;
6. Ensures the upkeep of maintenance tools and equipment;
7. Coordinates activities associated with troubleshooting and repairing maintenance equipment;
8. Provides clear feedback to direct line Supervisor.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

1. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance is essential;
2. Maintenance and fault finding on Allen Bradley VSD’s and PLC’s as well as medium voltage switchgear will be advantageous.
