Job description

A food & beverage company is seeking an experienced electrician in the Harrismith & surrounding areas.

Duties:

  • Complete the necessary administrative tasks for AMM, SHE, CDM and MDWT

  • Interact with production, Suppliers and contracting staff.

  • Coaching and mentoring of technical operators and apprentices.
  • Carry out assigned planned maintenance required on plant.
  • Incumbent must be pro-active and have predictive mindset during his/her condition-based maintenance routine checks.

  • Inboth electrical and mechanical disciplines, install, service, repair andmaintain existing and new equipment.

  • Attend to electrical and mechanical faults/breakdowns within the factory.

  • Basictroubleshooting (Problem solving skills) in instrumentation and automation(PLC's and SCADA systems).

  • Programmingand faultfinding on VSD''s and soft starters.

  • Monitorplanned instrument calibration for the production lines.

  • Rootcause analysis of repetitive faults; implement corrective measures.

  • Participateor lead 'Continuous Improvement' teams (AWG or MWG) to improve equipmentreliability and performance.

  • Maintainhigh quality execution of work and 5S before and after every intervention

  • Ensurevertical machine start-up and availability for production targets to be met.

  • Undertakesto work shift, standby and overtime as per company requirements.

  • Electricalpanels must be closed and always locked and kept in a neat and clean conditioncomplete with a set of as built wiring diagrams.

  • Complyto machinery safety standards and follow Nestle's safe ways of working - AlwaysAdhering to Safe Working Permit procedures (e.g., confined space, working atheight, hot work, LOTO etc.).

  • EnsureSAFETY and QUALITY risks are immediately eliminated with no compromise.

  • Corrector request for correction on errors on electrical and mechanical drawings,update accordingly.

  • Alignmentof goals to achieve NCE objectives.

Requirements:

  • Matric, N6 or Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Trade test
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines.
  • Fast learner with an open mind
  • Good problem solving skills and team work
  • SAP knowledge
  • Basic working knowledge of PLC's.
  • Preferably have a Certificate of Registration as an 'Installation Electrician.
  • Served Apprenticeship and qualified with a Millwright Trade Certificate(Electro-Mechanician).
