Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.

About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Responsibilities

1. Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring.
2. Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components.
3. Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards.
4. Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and electrical systems.
5. Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
6. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
7. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.

Minimum Requirements

1. Matric
2. Relevant qualification (PREFERABLY from a registered TVET college)
3. Attention to detail
4. Self-starter
5. Willingness to learn
6. Punctual
7. Team player
8. Positive mindset
9. Keen to take on responsibility and be accountable
10. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
11. Fluent in English
12. Loyal
13. Aged between 18 and 34
14. Must be Unemployed
15. Must not have taken part in the YES Programme before
