Position Info: Role Purpose
To ensure all electrical maintenance activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. Also, to ensure departmental goals and targets are achieved.
Ensure that all plant, equipment, and activities comply with occupational health & safety regulations and procedures.

Qualifications
- Electrical Trade Certificate (Red Seal)
- Knowledge of PLC systems – fault-finding & programming
- Knowledge of hot glue application systems
Experience
- 3-5 years of working experience in FMCG
Key Performance Areas
- Operate all electrical equipment safely, following safety regulations and standards.
- Follow correct lock-out procedures.
- Perform effective electrical planned preventative maintenance to ensure 100% plant availability.
- Conduct new electrical installations in accordance with SANS 01042.
- Maintain and fault-find on existing electrical equipment and panels.
- Adhere to company and legislative procedures at all times.
- Assist with repairs to production equipment.
- Execute tasks as per Job Cards.
- Replace mechanical drive components as required.
- Perform fault-finding and repairs on mechanical components.
- Replace rollers and bearings when necessary.
- Perform additional maintenance tasks as required.
- Implement and comply with all relevant health & safety procedures.
- Support production personnel in achieving operational targets.
- Follow all reasonable instructions from engineering management or supervision.
- Maintain a hazard-free working environment and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Apply good housekeeping practices, keeping the production area clean and tidy.
- Adhere to all relevant SOPs.
- Conduct mandatory safety inspections in line with the OSH Act and regulations.
- Inspect and maintain electrical DBs and enclosures according to OSH Act and Regulations.
- Perform factory lighting inspections and repairs as needed.
Planned Maintenance
- Perform daily machine inspections, identify potential failures, and report accordingly.
- Carry out planned maintenance as per schedules and recommend improvements.
- Ensure proper lubrication of all rolling elements.
- Address defects during maintenance with proper repair practices, avoiding quick fixes.
Impact of Errors on Business
- Loss of production due to machine downtime.
- Increased health & safety risks.
- Potential business closure due to non-compliance with legislation.
Decision-Making Level
- Authorize to stop a line if electrical issues or safety risks are identified.
