Job summary

Danielle Ward Recruitment is partnering with a successful Electrical business to recruit an Assistant Buyer. The role provides key administrative and operational support to ensure product information, systems and processes are accurate and on critical path.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Buyers, Merchandising, Technical, Marketing and suppliers to support product development and launch in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Assistant Buying, Buying Administration, or similar retail head office role.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong administrative and data management skills.
• Confident working with internal systems, spreadsheets, and product information.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.
• Commercially aware with a genuine interest in fashion, product, and the wider retail environment.
• A positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative approach, with the ability to work at pace in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Buying team throughout the product lifecycle, from initial brief through to product launch.
• Coordinating weekly critical path updates and communicating progress to the wider Buying team.
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain required information and following up on outstanding actions.
• Supporting the accuracy and completeness of product listings and website information.
• Maintaining range plans and other key buying systems and documentation.
• Developing a strong understanding of the product range and supporting the wider product development process.
