Job summary

Weskus Personeel is seeking a reliable Stores Manager to oversee daily operations of a busy stores function within an electrical infrastructure project environment in the Northern Suburbs of CPT. You will manage stock control, materials, tools and equipment while supervising stores personnel and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites.

The role requires leadership, strong planning, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and compliance with stores procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in stores, warehouse or inventory management.
• Experience in electrical, construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of stock-control, receiving and issuing procedures.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and stock-management systems.
• Ability to read material requisitions, delivery notes and supplier documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem solving skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel according to project requirements.
• Forklift licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily stores operations, including receiving, storing, issuing and dispatching stock.
• Maintain accurate stock records, inventory reports and supporting documentation.
• Control electrical materials, tools, equipment, consumables and project stock.
• Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors and suppliers to ensure materials are available when required.
• Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
• Report stock shortages, damages and discrepancies promptly.
• Supervise stores personnel and maintain strong housekeeping standards.
• Ensure compliance with stores procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain systems for stock security, traceability and accountability.
• Assist with stock audits, cycle counts and reconciliation of variances.
