Job summary

A growing clean energy company in Cape Town is seeking an Electrical Solar Technologist to design and implement commercial and residential solar projects. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in solar PV design, strong analytical and communication skills, and a relevant engineering degree. Proficiency in Helioscope and familiarity with tools like AutoCAD is essential. This role is for South African residents or those with a valid work permit.

Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Electrical Solar Technologist to join a growing team. You’ll play a key role in the design, analysis, and implementation of commercial and residential solar projects, helping us push the boundaries of clean energy and sustainable solutions.

Design and simulate solar PV systems using Helioscope
Conduct site assessments, shade analysis, and system sizing
Interpret and produce electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs)
Perform energy yield analysis and performance ratio calculations
Coordinate with installation teams, contractors, and suppliers
Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations
Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and stakeholders

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in solar PV system design and implementation
Proficient in Helioscope and familiar with other tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Excel
Solid understanding of electrical design principles and solar industry standards
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Qualification:
