Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead large-scale electrical infrastructure projects from planning to completion, including substations and overhead line work.

The role requires strong project management, coordination across teams, travel to Cape Town Northern Suburbs sites, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. A minimum NQF Level 6 in Electrical Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Experience managing electrical infrastructure, power distribution, or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of Low, Medium, and High Voltage electrical systems.
• Proven experience with substations, distribution networks, and overhead line construction.
• Excellent project management, planning, and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the Cape Town Northern Suburbs and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of electrical infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.
• Manage the construction and commissioning of substations, distribution substations, and overhead line projects.
• Coordinate project schedules, resources, and site activities to ensure successful project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Monitor project budgets, quality, safety, and programme milestones.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory regulations, and project specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and progress updates.
• Conduct regular site visits and provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
