Overview

Leading manufacturer based in Germiston requires an Electrical Maintenance Superintendent with experience in "heavy industrial environments." Completed Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential. GCC in Electrical will secure.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing all aspects of the Electrical Maintenance Department, including upkeep of manufacturing electrical systems, managing the maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new electrical systems.
• Manage multiple shifts of Maintenance Supervisors and Electricians.
• Design, implement, and maintain LV and MV electrical systems; possess extensive knowledge of substations, transformers, MCC systems, furnaces, vacuum circuit breakers, VSDs, PLCs, and protection relay systems.
• Provide PLC fault finding, fault diagnostics, root cause and failure mode analysis (RCA / FMEA), and condition monitoring.
• Offer expertise in switchgear solutions to improve system reliability and operational efficiency; optimize voltage distribution and integrate electrical systems for enhanced performance.
• Proficient in panel wiring.
• Develop and drive maintenance strategies, ensure safety, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet production goals and budgets.
• Monitor and control maintenance procedures for production lines to meet or exceed budgeted performance; participate in design meetings and coordinate with R&D on product changes and maintenance procedures.
• Lead safety initiatives, conduct training, and ensure compliance with good engineering practices, SABS codes, and OHS Act.

Educational Requirements

• Matric
• BSc / B-Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
• GCC Electrical will secure
• Minimum of 7 - 10 years post-qualification experience
