Electrical Foreman (JB5151)
Lusaka, Zambia
R65 – 70 000 CTC per month. Benefits include: Accommodation, transport allowance, and food allowance.
2-Year Fixed Term Contract

Seeking a highly skilled Electrical Foreman for a 2-year infrastructure project in Lusaka, Zambia focused on the replacement of sewer pipes, pumps, and pump stations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of high-current electrical systems related to pumping stations and sewage infrastructure. This role requires hands-on expertise in electrical work, strong leadership skills, and experience managing on-site teams in a high-voltage industrial environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Red Seal Certification (Electrical)
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in high-current electricity
  3. Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical systems and infrastructure projects
  4. Previous experience working on sewer pump stations, high-voltage electrical systems, and industrial electrical installations is highly advantageous
  5. Strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, motor control circuits, transformers, switchgear, and pump station electrical systems
  6. Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations
  7. Experience managing electrical teams, subcontractors, and site coordination
  8. Willing to work on a rotation schedule of 12 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and manage all electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for the sewer pump stations and related infrastructure
  2. Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations, quality control, and project specifications
  3. Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the electrical team, ensuring efficiency and productivity
  4. Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on high-voltage equipment, electrical panels, and motor control circuits
  5. Assist in planning and scheduling electrical work to align with project timelines
  6. Monitor and inspect electrical work to ensure compliance with safety and technical standards
  7. Work closely with the mechanical, civil, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems
  8. Maintain detailed reports, documentation, and project progress records
  9. Coordinate materials procurement and ensure the availability of necessary electrical supplies
  10. Train and mentor junior electricians and local workforce as required
