Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electrical design and development, preferably in related industry.
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software.
• Experience with sensors, data acquisition, and power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for agricultural equipment and automation processes.
• Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and component layouts using CAD software.
• Select appropriate electrical components, sensors, actuators, and power supplies based on system requirements.
• Develop and implement testing procedures for electrical systems and components.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in prototypes and existing machinery.
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical and control systems.
• Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure efficient production and assembly of electrical systems.
• Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, BOMs, and test reports.
• Stay updated on advancements in agricultural technology and relevant electrical engineering principles.
• Provide technical support to field service teams and customers when required.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent firm in the agricultural technology sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Specialist to join their expanding operations in Paarl, Western Cape.

This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of electrical systems for advanced agricultural machinery and automation solutions.

You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept development and prototyping to testing and production support.

The ideal candidate will possess strong practical skills in electrical system design, troubleshooting, and component selection, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers, software developers, and field technicians.

The role is based at our client's facility in Paarl, Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems for agricultural equipment and automation processes.

• Knowledge of power electronics and power distribution in mobile or industrial applications.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
• Practical experience with electronic assembly and testing is a plus.
