POSITION: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (PrEng / PrTechEng) - DURBAN

Our client, whose services include engineering, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management consulting, and town planning, is seeking a vibrant and dynamic young individual to join their electrical engineering team.

Job Description:

An Electrical Engineer with a background in industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors will join our team based in Durban, overseeing various projects across South Africa.

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineering BEng / BSc Degree or BTech qualification
• 7-10 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial and infrastructure projects within the private and government sectors, with a proven track record
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer, Technologist, or Candidate
• Experience in greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction
• Ability to work collaboratively and embrace team culture across divisions
• Mentorship capabilities for students and graduates
• Knowledge of DigSilent / ETAP Loadflow / Fault Study Modelling is advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Perform and oversee electrical engineering activities for various industrial projects, ensuring safe delivery aligned with operational plans during project execution
• Design engineering in accordance with established standards and codes of practice
• Review technical documentation and define electrical engineering requirements
• Conduct technical evaluations and prepare specifications for electrical infrastructure and installations
• Perform feasibility and electrical power system studies
• Attend factory acceptance tests and contribute to vendor test documentation
• Manage and assist with plant electrical equipment and system installation and commissioning
• Ensure quality, manage risks, monitor financial performance, scope, and client satisfaction in all projects
• Coordinate with clients to ensure designs meet requirements
• Represent the company at client and professional meetings, presenting work and engaging in technical discussions professionally
