Electrical Engineer

A large, international engineering consultancy firm is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer with solid Building Services experience to join their team.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Analysing project requirements in the context of various codes and standards and developing conceptual designs through to a set of construction information.
2. Coordinating the design and virtual construction of the relevant building services designs forming part of projects such as data centres, education and sports facilities, hospitals, commercial buildings, and transport facilities.
3. Developing scripts and add-ins to automate repetitive design aspects and/or to check various design compliance aspects (using e.g. Dynamo, Python).
4. Managing and quality checking deliverables (including modelling works, data/parameter management) carried out by global and multinational dispersed & remote teams; coordinating with other disciplines.
5. Facilitating virtual and mixed reality sessions for coordination and consultation purposes, and being interested in the research and implementation of new BIM technology into project work.
6. Maintaining project records in accordance with the internal quality system.
7. Challenging the team to remain ahead of the technology curve regarding technical trends, as well as design execution.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the Electrical environment, within the built environment, preferably within a consulting engineering business.
2. A strong background in Electrical design (mainly LV) including reticulation design, containment, and lighting designs.
3. Layouts, Schematics, Schedules, and Whole System Design.
4. Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (B.Eng, B.Sc).

Knowledge:

1. Fire alarm, Security & Access Control as well as PAVA designs (beneficial).
2. International project experience (outside Africa) (beneficial).
3. A passion for design data management and coding (beneficial).
4. Proficiency in Revit with the ability to deliver to a minimum of LOD300 (beneficial).
5. Using Revit for Design workflows (beneficial).
6. Software experience in Amtech, ETAP, Dialux, Electrical OM (beneficial).

Salary:

R450 000 – R250 000
