Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivatedElectrical Engineer to deliver competent, cost-effective maintenance and engineering support. Your contribution will play a key role in maximizing plant production and availability—ensuring operations are safe, efficient, and fully compliant with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure SHEQ Compliance: Enforce adherence to all Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies, work permits, and ISO standards.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain high maintenance standards, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with business processes.
  • Lead Reliability Improvements: Perform root cause analyses, monitor equipment performance, and introduce solutions to reduce failures.
  • Plan and Execute Maintenance: Oversee long-term maintenance and shutdown activities, using SAP for planning, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Manage Contractors and Compliance: Oversee external contractors, ensure legal compliance of electrical installations, and manage hazardous waste disposal.
  • Control Budgets and Costs: Monitor expenses, approve purchases, and identify long-term cost-saving opportunities through design and process improvements.
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Supervise and coach the technical/maintenance team, ensuring skill development in predictive maintenance and problem-solving.
  • Foster Stakeholder Relationships: Engage effectively with internal and external partners to ensure high service standards and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a heavy industry environment
  • SAP knowledge is advantageous
  • Supervisory experience is an added advantage
  • Government Certificate of Competency (Factories) is beneficial
