Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Prominent multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy has a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join their Durban office team.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Background in industrial and infrastructure projects within the private and government sectors.
2. Overseeing various projects across South Africa.
3. Electrical Engineering BEng / BSc Degree or BTech qualification.
4. Approximately 5 - 7 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
5. Proven track record (must be included in CV submissions).
6. Registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with ECSA (preferable).
7. Experience in Greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction.
8. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across divisions.
9. Mentorship experience for students and graduates.
10. Knowledge of DigSilent / ETAP Loadflow / Fault Study Modelling (advantageous).

Responsibilities:

1. Perform and oversee electrical engineering activities for industrial projects, ensuring safety and operational standards.
2. Design engineering in accordance with standards and codes of practice.
3. Review technical documentation and define electrical engineering requirements.
4. Conduct technical evaluations and prepare specifications for electrical infrastructure.
5. Perform feasibility and electrical power system studies.
6. Attend factory acceptance tests and contribute to vendor test documentation.
7. Manage and assist with plant electrical equipment installation and commissioning.
8. Ensure quality, risk management, financial performance, scope management, and client satisfaction.
9. Liaise with clients to ensure designs meet requirements.
10. Represent the company at client and professional meetings, presenting work and engaging in technical discussions.
