Qualifications

SUMMARY :

Prominent multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy has a vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join the team based at their Durban office. Candidates must have a background in industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors and will be overseeing various projects in South Africa.

POSITION INFO : Requirements :

• Electrical Engineering BEng / BSc Degree or BTech qualification
• Around 5 - 7 years previous electrical engineering experience in industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors (a proven track record must accompany CV submissions)
• ECSA registered as a Professional Engineer or Technologist (preferably)
• Greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction experience
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members across divisions
• Provide mentorship to students and graduates
• Experience with DigSilent / ETAP Loadflow / Fault Study Modelling is advantageous

Responsibilities :

1. Perform and oversee electrical engineering activities for various industrial projects in the private and government sectors to ensure safe delivery during project execution;
2. Design engineering solutions in accordance with established standards and codes of practice;
3. Review technical documentation and define electrical engineering requirements;
4. Conduct technical evaluations and prepare specifications for electrical infrastructure and installations;
5. Carry out feasibility studies and electrical power system analyses;
6. Attend factory acceptance tests and contribute to vendor’s test documentation;
7. Manage and assist with the installation and commissioning of plant electrical equipment and systems;
8. Ensure quality, risk management, financial performance, scope management, and client satisfaction in all projects;
9. Liaise with clients to ensure designs meet requirements;
10. Represent the company at client and professional meetings, presenting work and engaging in technical discussions professionally;
