Electrical Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in Industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors to be based in Durban. You will be required to travel extensively around SA.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform and oversee Electrical engineering activities for various industrial projects in the private and government sectors to safely deliver on all company operational plans during the project execution phase.
2. Engineering design in accordance with established standards and codes of practice.
3. Review technical documentation and define electrical engineering requirements.
4. Carry out technical evaluations and prepare specifications for electrical infrastructure and installations.
5. Conduct feasibility and electrical power system studies.
6. Attend factory acceptance tests and provide input to vendor’s test documentation.
7. Manage and assist with plant electrical equipment and system installation and commissioning.
8. Accountability for quality, risk management, financial performance, scope management, and client satisfaction in all projects undertaken.
9. Liaise with the client to ensure that agreed designs are in accordance with agreed requirements.
10. Represent the company at client and professional meetings, with the ability to present work and engage in technical conversations in a professional manner.

Requirements:

1. Electrical Engineering BEng / BSC Degree or BTech qualification.
2. 7-10 years previous electrical engineering experience in Industrial and infrastructure projects in the private and government sectors. Proven track record.
3. ECSA registered as a Professional Engineer or Technologist.
4. Greenfields and brownfields plant design and construction experience.
5. Ability to work and embrace team culture with fellow peers across various divisions.
6. Provide mentorship to students and graduates.
7. DigSilent / ETAP Loadflow / Fault Study Modelling would be advantageous.
