Job description

On behalf of our client, a leading player in the renewable energy sector, we are seeking a skilled and driven Electrical Engineer with a solid background in solar or renewable energy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation making a real impact in the energy transition space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain electrical systems for solar PV or renewable energy projects.
• Oversee grid integration, power distribution and protection systems.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies and performance modelling.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings and documentation in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including EPC contractors, utilities and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with relevant SANS, IEC and NERSA requirements.
• Support project execution from design to commissioning phase.

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of PV system design tools (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
• Knowledge of local and international electrical codes and standards.
• Experience with utility-scale or C&I solar systems is advantageous.
• ECSA registration (Pr.Eng or Candidate Engineer) will be a strong advantage.
