Electrical / Electronic Engineering Lecturer Electrical / Electronic Engineering Lecturer The institute has a job opening for an Electrical / Electronic Engineering Lecturer within our Engineering & Science Department.

The prime role of the Lecturer, being deemed the Subject Matter Expert, will be to teach students the necessary skills.

Position Duties & Responsibilities Facilitating student learning through interactive teaching that promotes student engagement and support the student learning experience Setting and conducting of assessments, marking, and providing meaningful feedback Contributing to programme and content development, and improvement of resources Undertaking relevant academic administration activities Ensuring a positive student experience, providing student support, and maintaining excellent customer service Maintaining strong working relationships within the department and with other departments Prepare comprehensive briefs and marking schedules are available to students at the start of the project.

Briefs include aims, learning outcomes, submission requirements, assessment criteria, references, and additional resources Keep themselves informed and abreast of developments in their field Inform students about the assessment methods, procedures and regulations as contained in briefs and the assessment policy The lecturer is perceived as fair, approachable and supportive Promote student success through initiatives that see improved student retention and throughput rates Identify at-risk students and implement strategies to assist these students Build and maintain communities of learning and communities of practice Application Requirements : Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.

Honours in the relevant field would be advantageous.

Competent in electronics like microcontrollers and computer science and engineering.

Proficient in programming languages like C++, Python and Java.

Familiar with industrial controllers, e.g.

PLC programming, connections and communication.

At least 3 years' experience in teaching and learning within the Higher Education environment.

Ability to teach, develop content, and conduct assessments.

Registered (or registrable) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) in a professional capacity.
