Job summary

A leading company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a focus on electrical looms and harnesses. The role requires strong knowledge in creating and managing wiring diagrams, alongside relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering. Candidates with experience in the Aerospace industry will have an added advantage. RSA citizens with a clean criminal record are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in electrical design.
• Experience in Aerospace Industry and PLM/PDM systems is beneficial.
• RSA Citizen with no criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Create and update electrical wire diagrams for projects.
• Assign manufacturer parts and maintain wiring diagram controls.
• Generate BOMs and track task progress with reports.

N3 in Electrical Engineering

Job description

We're looking for a Electrical Designer with specific experience in the design of electrical looms/harnesses.

MUST:
At least have a N3 in Electrical Engineering, N6 Electrical Engineering or a ND might be preferred.
Have at least 3 years' working experience in:
-Creating and updating electrical wire diagrams based on project specifications and standards in the designing of electrical looms/harnesses.
-Assigning the appropriate manufacturer parts, part numbers and related specifications to the relevant components in the diagrams.
-Maintenance and control over wiring diagrams (specifically on the software systems and database).
-Ensuring wires correctly and accurately with loom numbers, wire sizes and categories.
-Adding shielded cables with detailed specifications, including colours and part types.
-Generation and maintenance of reports such as BOMs and Wire Reports.
-Tracking and documenting the progress of assigned tasks and submission of timely reports.
-Harness tester programming and testing.
-Laser Wire Marker (LWM) setup, and programming.

Experience in specifically the Aerospace Industry will be highly beneficial.
Experience with PLM or PDM systems will be highly beneficial.
